On any cruise there is always live entertainment, and on the Oasis of the Seas, this was to be found everywhere, from Ice-Skating Fairy Tales, to High Diving Water Shows, to theatrical productions, and to Headliner Acts. The photos here capture some of the entertainment - and particularly 'The Edge Effect' - the Headline Acapella Act for the week of our cruise.

First stop on our USA Holiday 2016 was Nashville, home of Country Music (and one of my favourite TV shows)!. Of course, no stay in Nashville is complete without a visit to the Grand Ole Opry House and the show that made Country Music famous!

Time for another musical to pass through Singapore - this time one of the biggest and best known - so of course we had to go!

Never one to miss the Christmas musical, we were off to Birmingham. Christine joined us this year - so a (very) quick look down the main street in the rain was followed by good theatre. My school is performing Hairspray next year - so it will be interesting to see how they do in comparison!

One of the parents in Shanhong's school was taking part in an opera (she's in the picture below), and very kindly treated us to tickets!  So a night at the opera it was!  Unfortunately the Singapore Lyric Opera does not offer video clips of their work - and so I cannot show you anything of what we saw. However, as there was one aria I recognised, I thought I would include a version of that song instead. What made it even more special, is that is one of the pieces Shanhong had to sing to enter her Conservatory as a young student!

By a stroke of luck, Ghost the Musical was playing in Macau while we were there, and ticket prices were half that of Singapore, so it was not to be missed! Not my favourite musical, but well worth seeing at Macau prices!

One of the highlights of our Macau trip was a visit to the House of Dancing Water show at the City of Dreams. This is a very different show with a performance stage that changes from a deep pool to a hard stage and a plot that includes divers, ballet stars and motorcycle stuntriders!  Needless to say I enjoyed it!

Another musical in Singapore, a good oldie.... lots of fun - and raincoats for those in the front seats!  Coming direct from London's West End, it was the start of an international run for 'Singin' in the Rain'.  Shockingly, teddy got left at home for this one....  oops!

We saw two shows in London in the summer of 2015, the first was the famous 'Book of Mormon' ... although as Christians we were warned it might be a little uncomfortable, I loved it !

Never one to pass an opportunity for a musical, it was back to see the Disney production of Beauty and the Beast in Singapore.
