Mrs Doubtfire - London - July, 2024
Obviously a great movie - but would it how translate to the stage?
The answer is, very well! It's a fun show, but it is very reliant on its star character.

Starlight Express - London - July, 2024
A great show, finally in a theatre that does it justice. Very much a new production, with new characters (the smoking car updated to a hydrogen fuel engine), new songs, and new staging in a warehouse style theatre where the skating can go both around and through the audience. Very nicely done and a great start to this year's summer show season.
Lion King Concert - Singapore - June, 2024
I've seen these advertised and have never been, so it was time to give it a try. The movie is played on a large screen, but the soundtrack is played by a live full orchestra and choir. Different! I enjoyed it, but, not so much that I need to go to this kind of event again! I'll stick to movies in the cinema and musicals in the theatre!

Hamilton - Singapore - April, 2024
Hamilton is a great show, quite different to the norm, both in it's rap-style, and in its single set. We have now seen this show three times, this latest being in Singapore in April 2024.

Matilda - Singapore - March, 2024
I think this was our 4th, or possibly even 5th time seeing Matilda - but it is such a good show! How could we resist when it was passing through Singapore?

Madagascar The Musical - Singapore - Jan, 2024
First time seeing Madagascar, and the last! It's fun, but definitely a kid's show. Still, when these shows pass through Singapore, you just have to go see them, especially if you haven't seen them before!

& Juliet - Singapore - Oct, 2023
Although we had literally just seen this in London less than a year earlier - how could we resist going again when it passed through Singapore? It's a singalong show - jukebox theatre at its best!

Newsies - London - July, 2023
This is a Disney production - so of course, it will be well done. However, staging in the Troubadour theatre made it fantastic. This is a "warehouse" theatre, where the actors are on many levels, around and between the audience, so everything is much closer and interactive. A great show, in a great theatre.

Ain't too proud - London - July, 2023
This was a half-price ticket - it could have been good or bad! It was in-between. Like the much better "Jersey Boys", its a true musical based around the lives of "The Temptations". Worth seeing - but, unless you are a real fan of the original group, you probably wouldn't go a second time.

Wizard of Oz - London - July, 2023
A new production/interpretation by Andrew Lloyd Weber - and we were there for the very first show, with Andrew in the audience! Our ten-pound ticket was front row, which meant we could only see the bits when the cast were at the front of the stage - but it was good to be there for a first!
